Ooo Pretties

March 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

My husband is deployed, so last night I made three matching deployment bracelets. I made each of the girls one that says Daddy and mine says Aaron. I got a support ribbon charm for each, but forgot the sterling silver jump rings, so I’ll have to add them later. I used all sterling silver letters and findings and swarovski crystal beads. The girls love their Daddy bracelets :)

Crafting ADD

October 8, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I think today I was suffering from some serious crafting ADD.  I did get a lot of stuff done though.  I dyed some sock yarn, beaded a bracelet, made half a dozen cell phone charms, LWI dyed half a dozen prefolds and two playsilks… and I took the product pictures, edited them, and uploaded most of that to my store already.  The only things I haven’t added are the cell phone charms, because I think I want to put those on Holiday Lane.  I did take the photos and edit them already though, so they are ready to go.  I even took better pictures of some yarn I already have for sale on my Hyena Cart.

The sock yarn is still drying, but I just know it’s going to look great once I re-skein it.

The prefolds- some of them I dyed as an experiment.  We were talking about how sometimes customers ask you to create something and you think it’s going to come out awful, but then once you do it, it is awesome.  So I decided to LWI dye with color combinations I’d never think of using.  I got some really neat results!

Hot Pink & Avocado, Khaki & Chinese Red, Orchid & Chartreuse

And here’s a peek at the cell phone charms for Holiday Lane:

Bit by the beading bug

October 4, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I used to ALWAYS bead, but lately I haven’t really felt the urge.   Several months ago, probably almost six at this point- I found the supplies to make hairsticks online, and ordered a bunch.  And they’ve just sat here, while I continue to buy hairsticks on etsy for myself.  So today, I decided to pull out all my bins of beads and work on some for my Hyena Cart.

These will go live tomorrow.  And while I had all the beads out, I put together two sets of wine glass charms to go with all of those wine bags I had LWI dyed.  Those will also be available tomorrow.  I think those would make such cute gifts.
